Celebrating for a good cause

The annual charity event has formed an integral part of the opening programme in the Semper Opera House since the first Semper Opera Ball in 2006.

The charity project, which is chosen in advance, is sponsored by a permanent charity partner, and promoted with the help of a celebrity ambassador. It is tradition for another request for donations to be made following the end of the midnight act on the main stage in the ballroom. Tombola tickets can be bought from the charity hostesses, who walk through the opera house with their tombola boxes. A charity tombola is also organised for the theatre square, in addition to the charity event in the opera house.
