How to experience the Ball

The Semper Opera Dresden is located in the historical centre of the city. It is very easy to get there by car or public transport. In addition to that, the Ball is widely covered and live broadcasted via MDR FERNSEHEN.

From Berlin (A4)

Take the autobahn exit Dresden-Hellerau onto the B170 towards the centre, turn right towards Pirnaischer Platz and on towards Postplatz. From there, take the Ostraallee towards the Landtag, at the corner of Kleine Packhofstraße/Devrientstraße you will be able to see the Semper Opera House.

From Leipzig/Chemnitz (A4)

Take the autobahn exit Dresden-Altstadt onto the B6 towards the centre, continue straight along Terrassen Ufer to the corner of Kleine Packhofstraße/Devrientstraße. The Semper Opera House will be on your right.

Parking is not permitted on the theatre square in front of the Semper Opera House.

Public transport

The Semper Opera House is directly on the theatre square, at the Theatreplatz stop, and the Postplatz stop is also just a few minutes walk away. From Dresden central station, tram 8 (towards Hellerau) and tram 9 (towards Kaditz) from central station north take you straight to Postplatz. Due to the Open Air Ball, the tram does not stop at Theaterplatz. From the Dresden-Neustadt station you can take the number 11 tram (towards Zschertnitz) to Postplatz. You can also take the trams 1, 2, 4, 11 and 12 or the bus number 94.
